The Labour Party wins the UK elections by a landslide. Starmer Prime Minister. Reeves new Chancellor of the Exchequer

Keir Starmer nuovo primo ministro laburista nel Regno Unito. Alla guida dell'economia britannica va Rachel Reeves.

EN  -  Keir Starmer, 61 years old, became the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on Friday 5 July, appointed by King Charles III, in the aftermath of the political elections which decreed a clear affirmation of the Labour Party and its overwhelming majority in the House of Commons.

During the afternoon Starmer announced his government team, effectively promoting the shadow cabinet.

IT - Il laburista Keir Starmer, 61 anni, è diventato nuovo primo ministro del Regno Unito venerdì 5 luglio, nominato da re Carlo III, all'indomani delle elezioni politiche che hanno decretato una netta affermazione del Labour Party e una sua schiacciante maggioranza alla Camera dei Comuni.

Nel corso del pomeriggio Starmer ha annunciato la sua squadra di governo, promuovendo di fatto il governo ombra.

Starmer ha confermato la sua stima per la vice leader laburista Angela Rayner, esponente della working class più orientata a sinistra, e nel nuovo governo è stata promossa a ruolo di  vicepremier. Agli Esteri Starmer ha nominato David lammy, agli interni Ivette Cooper.

Nel governo degli affari economici, del lavoro, industriali ed energetici Starmer ha affidato i ministeri secondo le previsioni della vigilia.

Rachel Reeves, figura moderata del Labour è stata indicata da Starmer a capo del super ministero economico in veste di cancelliera dello Scacchiere, prima donna destinata a questo ruolo, con residenza al numero 11 di Downing Street.

Fra i ministri entranti convocati per primi a number 10 c'è anche Ed Miliband, ex leader del Labour, che è stato convocato a Downing Street per assumere la guida del dicastero dell'Energia e dell'Ambiente, e il ruolo di coordinatore delle politiche sulla transizione verde.
