Partenrship rafforzata su IA, 6G, tecnologie quantistiche e minerali critici

EN - The sixth ministerial meeting of the Trade and Technology Council (“TTC”) took place in Leuven, Belgium, on 4 and 5 April 2024. It was co-chaired by European Commission Executive Vice President Vestager, European Commission Executive Vice President Dombrovskis, United States Secretary of State Blinken, United States Secretary of Commerce Raimondo, and United States Trade Representative Tai, joined by European Commissioner Breton, and hosted by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of significant geopolitical developments and challenges. The acceleration of the digital transformation call for accelerating efforts to establish joint leadership and continue robust coordination on approaches for creating rules of the road for emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technologies, and 6G wireless communication systems.

The two institutional representatives, recognizing the centrality of raw materials "for a wide range of technologies needed for strategic sectors, such as zero-emission industry and the digital, space and defense sectors", also launched the Minerals Security Partnership Forum, "who will jointly chair", to continue to promote "future cooperation".
