EU employment rate stable in the third quarter of 2025

Tra luglio e settembre 2025 il tasso è restato stabile al 76,2 %. I dati sono stati diffusi da Eurostat venerdi 12 dicembre

EU/ENG - On Friday, December 12, Eurostat published data on the employment rate of people aged 20 to 64 in the European Union for the third quarter of 2025. Between July and September, this rate stood at 76.2%, stable compared to the second quarter of 2025.  

Labour market slack – all persons who have an unmet need for employment, including unemployed people – stood at 11.0% of the extended labour force aged 20-64 in the third quarter of 2025, also stable compared with the second quarter of 2025.

Between the second and the third quarter of 2025, Malta (+1.2 percentage points (pp)), Estonia (+0.8 pp), as well as Croatia, Portugal and Romania (+0.6 pp each) registered the highest increases in the employment rate among the 15 EU countries where employment rose. The employment rate remained stable in Denmark and the Netherlands, and decreased in 10 EU countries, with the biggest decreases recorded in Belgium (-0.7 pp), Luxembourg and Ireland (-0.5 pp each).

EU//ITA - Eurostat ha diffuso i dati sul tasso di occupazione delle persone di età compresa tra i 20 e i 64 anni nell'Unione europea relativi al terzo trimestre del 2025 Il tasso è del 76,2 %, stabile rispetto al secondo trimestre del 2025. 

La capacità inutilizzata del mercato del lavoro aggregato UE – tutte le persone che hanno un'esigenza di occupazione insoddisfatta, compresi i disoccupati – è attiva all'11,0 % della forza lavoro estesa di età compresa tra i 20 e i 64 anni nel terzo trimestre del 2025, anch'essa stabile rispetto al secondo trimestre del 2025. 

Tra il secondo e il terzo trimestre del 2025, Malta (+1,2 punti percentuali (pp)), Estonia (+0,8 punti percentuali), Croazia, Portogallo e Romania (+0,6 punti percentuali ciascuno) hanno registrato gli aumenti più elevati del tasso di occupazione tra i 15 paesi dell'UE in cui l'occupazione è aumentata. Il tasso di occupazione è rimasto stabile in Danimarca e nei Paesi Bassi e ha segnato in 10 paesi dell'UE, con le maggiori diminuzioni registrate in Belgio (-0,7 punti percentuali), Lussemburgo e Irlanda (-0,5 punti percentuali ciascuno).
