European Parliament: The economic topics of the July plenary session in Strasbourg

Economic debates are planned on US tariffs and on the next EU budget, on Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone and CAP.I lavori si terranno dal 7 al 10 luglio.

EU/ENG - The plenary session at the European Parliament in Strasbourg will be held from 7 to 10 July. On the economic front, debates are planned in the chamber on US tariffs (on which the deadline of 9 July, imposed by the White House, looms) and on the next EU budget, as well as on Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone and the Common Agricultural Policy.

The presentation of the Danish presidency semester and the climate targets announced by the Commission: these are some of the issues at the centre of the sessions of the hemicycle. The motion of no confidence in President Von der Leyen, promoted by the Romanian of Ecr, Gheorghe Piperea and presented by 77 MEPs from ECR, ESSN and Patrioti, seems destined not to be accepted. In Strasbourg, among other things, the rule of law in Hungary will also be discussed, in particular after the controversy over the opposed Budapest Pride. The agenda of the July plenary session includes a debate on the protection of journalists and freedom of the press. On the foreign front, an important debate is planned in preparation for the long-awaited EU-China summit, on the human costs of the war in Ukraine on which a resolution will be voted, and on the progress of some countries' path towards joining the European Union. The next plenary session is scheduled for 8-11 September, again in Strasbourg.
