Eurostat : GDP up 0.3% in Q2 in euro area and EU

Nel secondo trimestre del 2024, il PIL destagionalizzato è aumentato dello 0,3 percento sia nell'area dell'euro che nell'UE, rispetto al trimestre precedente,

EN - In the second quarter of 2024, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.3 percent in both the euro area and the EU, compared with the previous quarter, according to a preliminary flash estimate published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

Eurostat noted that in the first quarter of 2024, GDP had also grown by 0.3 percent in both zones.

Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.6 percent in the euro area and by 0.7 percent in the EU in the second quarter of 2024, after +0.5 percent in the euro area and +0.6 percent in the EU in the previous quarter, it added.

Among the Member States for which data are available for the second quarter of 2024, Ireland (+1.2 percent) recorded the highest increase compared to the previous quarter, followed by Lithuania (+0.9 percent) and Spain (+0.8 percent). The highest declines were recorded in Latvia (-1.1 percent), Sweden (-0.8 percent) and Hungary (-0.2 percent). The year-on-year growth rates were positive for eight countries and negative for three.

The economy in Germany turned negative by 0.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2024. In Italy, the industry slowed down and its growth closed at 0.2 per cent, lower than the government's testimony. France does not shine, but in the wake of the new government, political uncertainty has a slow rise, only 0.3 per cent in the second quarter of the year.

 

IT - Nel secondo trimestre del 2024, il PIL destagionalizzato è aumentato dello 0,3 percento sia nell'area dell'euro che nell'UE, rispetto al trimestre precedente, secondo una stima preliminare flash pubblicata da Eurostat, l'ufficio statistico dell'Unione europea.

Eurostat ha rilevato che nel primo trimestre del 2024, il PIL era cresciuto anche dello 0,3 percento in entrambe le zone.

Rispetto allo stesso trimestre del 2023, il PIL destagionalizzato è aumentato dello 0,6 percento nell'area dell'euro e dello 0,7 percento nell'UE nel secondo trimestre del 2024, dopo il +0,5 percento nell'area dell'euro e il +0,6 percento nell'UE nel trimestre precedente.

 

Meglio la Spagna di Germania, Italia e Francia che crescono meno del previsto

I tassi di crescita anno su anno sono stati positivi per otto paesi e negativi per tre. Tra gli Stati membri, spicca la buona performance dell'Irlanda (+1,2 percento) rispetto al trimestre precedente, seguita da Lituania (+0,9 percento) e Spagna (+0,8 percento). Crescita in calo per Lettonia (-1,1 percento), Svezia (-0,8 percento) e Ungheria (-0,2 percento).

L’economia tedesca torna in negativo dello 0,1 per cento nel secondo trimestre 2024. In Italia rallenta l’industria e la crescita si ferma allo 0,2 per cento, inferiore alle attese del governo. Non brilla nemmeno la Francia, che in attesa del nuovo governo somma l’incertezza politica a una crescita flebile, solo dello 0,3 per cento nel secondo trimestre dell’anno.
