Sollievo nell'Unione europea

EU/EN - The President of the United States surprisingly announced on Wednesday, April 9, a 90-day “truce” on “reciprocal tariffs,” setting them at 10%, with the exception of tariff measures raised to 125% for China. Following Trump’s announcement, European Commission President von der Leyen significantly stated: “The European Union remains engaged in constructive negotiations with the United States, with the aim of achieving frictionless and mutually beneficial trade. At the same time, Europe continues to focus on diversifying its trade partnerships, working with countries that account for 87% of global trade and share our commitment to free and open exchange of goods, services and ideas.” "Finally, we are stepping up our work to remove barriers in our Single Market. This crisis has made one thing clear: in times of uncertainty, the Single Market is our anchor of stability and resilience. My team and I will continue to work day and night to protect European consumers, workers and businesses. Together, Europeans will emerge stronger from this crisis."

Then, on Thursday 10 April, the President of the European Commission announced the suspension for ninety days of the duties decided the day before against American products.
