Nel Regno Unito salta il piano per il taglio delle tasse sulla massima aliquota

l governo Truss cancella il piano di taglio tasse ai redditi alti

Il cancelliere dello scacchiere del Regno Unito  Kwasi Kwarteng ha annunciato che la decisione di eliminare l’aliquota del 45% dell’imposta sul reddito era diventata una «distrazione dalla nostra missione prioritaria»

Il 23 settembre un massiccio pacchetto di sostegno energetico per le famiglie, accompagnato da ingenti tagli fiscali. Il taglio dell’imposta sul reddito per la fascia più alta, che sarebbe stata ridotta dal 45% al 40%, è stata oggetto di aspre polemiche, in quanto accusato di favorire i più abbienti nel bel mezzo della crisi del costo della vita nel Regno Unito.

 

L’opposizione laburista: si è trattato di una «manovra kamikaze»«Persa ogni credibilità»

 

Rachel Reeves, cancelliere dello Scacchiere ombra della compagine laburista, dopo l’improvvisa marcia indietro dell’esecutivo ha dichiarato : «Il governo conservatore ha perso ogni credibilità e danneggiato la fiducia nell’economia britannica» e ha ggiunto «Ma è troppo tardi per le famiglie che pagheranno mutui più alti e prezzi più alti negli anni a venire», ha aggiunto Reeves, riferendosi all’instabilità economica generata dalla manovra. Per Reeves il governo Truss ha «Persa ogni credibilità».
